Good morning šāļøš
I woke up this morning thinking of Speaker Mike Johnson and his need for a strong prayer covering and I thought about the America we once knew. Is she gone forever? God knows. I do know we no longer wield moral authority in the world.
This passage came to mind.
Ephesians 6: 10-19 (NIV).
The Armor of God
ā10Ā Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11Ā Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devilās schemes. 12Ā For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13Ā Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14Ā Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15Ā and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16Ā In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17Ā Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.ā
Be safe and blessed. Pray for yourselves, your families, leaders, and other nations. #MikeJohnson #prayer #Congress
This is a good reminder of a way of life thatās foreign for many of us. Wishing you a blessed week and day.
Jesus shared many words of comfort to his followers. The Judeo-Christian Bible is rich in sources of comfort. We need to remember and meditate on verses that encourage us.
āAs you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world. For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified.
My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me,that they may be one as we are oneā I in them and you in meāso that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.ā
John 18: 17-23 (NKJV).
Nashvillians please be aware that Metro City Council has listed on its agenda a resolution condemning Israel and its treatment of the Palestinian people. The resolution ignores reality and risks fueling more antisemitism. Itās time to send your city council member a strongly worded message about this proposed legislation and whether it represents the will of the people. #Nashville #Israel #antisemitism @MetroNashville #Hamas
