How do we keep our peace in a topsy-turvy world? God’s word is always a good place to start and end. It can center and calm us better than any illegal or pharmaceutical drug designed to numb our brains. Even when depression was my old familiar friend, I preferred the pain to the numbness of drugs. Christ delivered me from periodic bouts of deep depression. The scripture below and the Psalms are always in season for healing. Be blessed and joyful. God knows you even when you don’t know him. As Christians, it’s wise to regularly examine our hearts. Are we craving the world’s approval a little too much?
Jesus didn’t sugarcoat what following Him would cost:
“If the world hates you, remember that it hated me first. The world would love you as one of its own if you belonged to it, but you are no longer part of the world. I chose you to come out of the world, so it hates you.
