We are celebrating the gift of God’s snow in Nashville. It is a rare treat to have such an abundance of it and a taste of the cold that Americans from other states experience every year.
“The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they reveal knowledge.
They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them.

Here’s God’s heart on true leadership. If only our leaders would internalize this message and act accordingly.
Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave—just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

I’m reading Exodus 10: 1-12. It is impressed on my mind that the people of every land suffer or thrive because of the decisions of their appointed, elected, or inherited leaders.
Pharaoh’s officials and the Egyptian people looked favorably upon the Moses and the Hebrews. They supported compliance with Moses’s demands. Ignoring the advice of the leaders and the suffering of his people, Pharaoh’s pride led to great suffering.
There is a lesson in there for us. It applies to America as well as the foreign nations that we interject ourselves into.
