Have counted the costs?

Good morning ☀️🌞

Following Jesus comes at a high price. It might cost you your friends and family members. This is a harsh truth that many Christians forget to share when they evangelize.

“Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. And a person’s enemies will be those of his own household. Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And whoever does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.” Matthew 10: 34-39 (ESV). #Christian #Jewish #Muslim #prayer #Jesus

What’s your love language?

Greetings 👋

I’m continuing with my meditation on 1 John 4. Have you ever really reflected on the love of God and what He is trying to perfect in us?

“. . .God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him. In this way God’s love is perfected in us, so that we may have boldness on the Day of Judgment, because as He is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. Whoever fears is not perfect in love.”

1 John 4: 16-18 (MEV).

We are naked, you know!

Greetings 👋

God knows who we REALLY are. We are NAKED before him. It’s a sobering realization, isn’t it!

Here’s my meditation for today continuing in 1 John 4.

“. . . He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. They are of the world, and therefore they speak from the world, and the world listens to them. We are of God, and whoever knows God listens to us. Whoever is not of God does not listen to us. This is how we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.”

1 John 4: 4-6 (MEV).

Who SHOULD I LOVE?

Greetings 👋

Who are my brothers and sisters? Are these verses imploring us to have compassion and love for the whole of humanity?

What do you think?

“We love because he [Jesus] first loved us. Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.”

1 John 4: 19-21 (NIV).
