Greetings 👋
Here’s God’s pep talk for us today:
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4: 6-7 (ESV).
“So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Matthew 6:31-34 (ESV).
Remember he knows all and sees all.
Greetings 👋
Who are my brothers and sisters? Are these verses imploring us to have compassion and love for the whole of humanity?
What do you think?
“We love because he [Jesus] first loved us. Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.”
1 John 4: 19-21 (NIV).
Greetings 👋
God knows who we REALLY are. We are NAKED before him. It’s a sobering realization, isn’t it!
Here’s my meditation for today continuing in 1 John 4.
“. . . He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. They are of the world, and therefore they speak from the world, and the world listens to them. We are of God, and whoever knows God listens to us. Whoever is not of God does not listen to us. This is how we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.”
1 John 4: 4-6 (MEV).
Greetings 👋
I’m continuing with my meditation on 1 John 4. Have you ever really reflected on the love of God and what He is trying to perfect in us?
“. . .God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him. In this way God’s love is perfected in us, so that we may have boldness on the Day of Judgment, because as He is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. Whoever fears is not perfect in love.”
1 John 4: 16-18 (MEV).
