Conversely, the enemy seeks to manipulate this Kairos year to work in his favor. Did you know that under NYC's new mayor, Zohran Mamdani—the city's first Muslim leader—the 5x daily Adhan (Muslim call to prayer) is now authorized to echo through the streets of New York? This expands on previous policies, allowing broadcasts every day, from dawn to night.
What started as Friday-only under Adams is now a full daily ritual, voted in by the majority of New Yorkers who backed this administration.
But here's a thought: If public expressions of faith are the new norm in one of America's most diverse cities, why not balance the scales? I challenge Christians and Jews—especially in areas where Islamic influence is strong—to organize our own daily public prayer vigils. Let's unite in prayer to the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—the same God Christians know as Jesus Christ. Push back against division and reclaim the light in our shared spaces.
