Here’s a sobering Psalm for us to ponder.
“I said, I will watch my ways and keep my tongue from sin; I will put a muzzle on my mouth while in the presence of the wicked.
So I remained utterly silent, not even saying anything good. But my anguish increased; my heart grew hot within me.
While I meditated, the fire burned; then I spoke with my tongue:
Show me, Lord, my life’s end and the number of my days; let me know how fleeting my life is.
You have made my days a mere handbreadth; the span of my years is as nothing before you. Everyone is but a breath, even those who seem secure.
Surely everyone goes around like a mere phantom; in vain they rush about, heaping up wealth without knowing whose it will finally be.
But now, Lord, what do I look for? My hope is in you. Save me from all my transgressions; do not make me the scorn of fools.”
Psalm 39: 1-8 (NIV).

Greetings 👋
I take much comfort in these verses. What about you? How has God been faithful to you when the enemy came in like a flood?
“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.”
Isaiah 61: 1-3 (NIV).
