Here’s a heavy weekend reading for us to ponder.
God ‘s promises to His people were often presented as “if-then” statements, meaning that they were conditional. God promised Israel blessings for obedience and curses for disobedience.
There are lessons for EVERY nation that respects the Bible.
“Now if you faithfully obey the Lord your Godand are careful to follow all his commands I am giving you today, the Lord your God will put you far above all the nations of the earth. All these blessings will come and overtake you, because you obey the Lord your God:
You will be blessed in the city
and blessed in the country.
Your offspring will be blessed,
and your land’s produce,
and the offspring of your livestock,
including the young of your herds
and the newborn of your flocks.
Your basket and kneading bowl will be blessed.
You will be blessed when you come in
and blessed when you go out. The Lord will cause the enemies who rise up against you to be defeated before you. They will march out against you from one direction but flee from you in seven directions. The Lord will grant you a blessing on your barns and on everything you do; he will bless you in the land the Lord your God is giving you.”
Deuteronomy 28: 1-9 (CSB).
It is worthwhile for every Believer to read the entire chapter. I believe it speaks to what we have experienced in America.
How many of you need extra peace today?
Jesus is with us now and forever.
He will never leave nor forsake us.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Matthew 11: 28-30 (NIV). #Bible #Peace #Rest #meditation
These verses are more easily posted than practiced. Help me, Lord
“Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them.
Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.
Live in harmony with one another.
Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly.
Never be wise in your own sight.
Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all.
If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.
Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.”
Romans 12: 14-19 (NIV).
