Many of us are worried about our finances and job security. Stop it! Let’s pray and praise rather than fret about the unknown. We can trust Jesus to have our backs. He is faithful to those who walk with Him.
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Yesterday the world lost Dolly Parton. Her family said sadness is ours, not hers — that she “lived in the light and is in the arms of Jesus.”
That line stays with me because Scripture is honest about both sides of the story:
We each have an appointment with death. After that comes judgment. But Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many — and He will appear a second time, not to deal with sin, but to save those who are eagerly waiting for Him.
“And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment, so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.” — Hebrews 9:27–28 (ESV).
Rest in peace, Dolly. Thank you for the songs, the joy, and the light.
