Did you know that God doesnāt want us to worry about anything?
āThen Jesus said to his disciples: āTherefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes.
Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds!
Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?
āConsider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe youāyou of little faith!And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them. But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.āā

In 2018, when I was drafted to run for mayor of Nashville, a framed copy of Micah 6:8 hung in my office:
āHe has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you But to do justly, To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God?ā
It still hangs in one of the bedrooms in my home.
True leadership isnāt about status or self-promotionāitās about justice, mercy, humility, and service before God.

We have an everlasting reason for hope.
Isaiah 9 isnāt just a Christmas passageāitās a living word for right now. In a world that feels unstable, this promise still holds:
āFor to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on Davidās throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this.ā
