Greetings š
Hereās a word for Christian activists and others to ponder. What would our lives be without law and law enforcement?
āLet everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended.ā
Romans 13: 1-3 (NIV).

Does reading these verses bring you joy or angst? I see them as an invitation for self reflection. What about you?
āThen Jesus said to his disciples, āWhoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it.
What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul? For the Son of Man is going to come in his Fatherās glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what they have done.ā
Matthew 16: 24-27 (NIV).

Hereās Godās heart on true leadership. If only our leaders would internalize this message and act accordingly.
Jesus called them together and said, āYou know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slaveājust as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.ā
